Digital Musicianship and Music Educationsofasession is a company that leverages ICT to enable musicians and music students to use the internet for creating music together and to learn music. The company's product portfolio consists of the web plattform www.sofasession.com that enables musicians to create and perform music online remotely. The second product "etudo" is an application that enables music schools to digitize their music teaching. It helps music students to get the support for practicing even outside the scope of music lessons in a music school, by giving them access to all learning material where and when they need it.
The technology and research focus of the company is creating technology for online musical interaction with special attention to the aspect of real-time interaction for musical performances and jamming. Together with research institutions, the company researches the fields of recommender system for musicians, digitalization of classical music for educational purposes and new ways of digital learning experiences with leading research institutions from this area.
Referenzkundensofasession is used by roughly 20.000 musicians worldwide to create and make music together online.
etudo is used by several music school in Austria and Germany.
Etudoetudo is an interactive, digital learning platform for music students. It is specifically designed for the use in music schools and helps music schools to digitize their business. Learning and practicing an instrument is a very time consuming and also frustrating process. And typically, a student has to do this alone at home and it’s very boring. With etudo they finally can take their music school with them in their pocket and have all necessary support they need when they need it and where they need it. It is available for a monthly subscription per student.
Alleinstellungsmerkmaletudo is specifically designed for the use in music schools and not as a standalone music learning application without teacher involvement. This deliberate focus stems from the belief that music education needs a human teacher to convey technique, expression and knowledge of music reception that cannot easily be replicated through programs. As a music education software with this specific focus etudo is one of the first applications with this specific focus.
Einsatzbeispieleetudo is currently marketed in Austri a and Germany and used by music schools in these markets. Market entry for other markets is planned for the end of 2017 and 2018.
