13.10.2022: Interactive Heritage in Games: Best Practices
Talk as part of the SUBOTRON Interactive Heritage Series
In recent years, a number of games have been released that deal with local (socio)political or artistic heritage. How are historical facts implemented, adapted, edited? What were the challenges in developement, financing and marketing? How did cooperations with publishers or institutions work? How can new narratives and technologies contribute to interactive experiences?
As part of the new SUBOTRON Interactive Heritage event series this talk connects players from a broad range of creative fields who negotiate the potential of games and interactive experiences as a means of expression and mediator of the past, present and future of local cultural heritage in an interdisciplinary exchange with each other and with the audience.
The event series Interactive Heritage is a cooperation project of SUBOTRON with the Vienna Business Agency. This year’s Content Vienna competition for digital design had a special prize dedicated to Interactive Heritage.
