Englischsprachiger Vortrag im Rahmen der SUBOTRON arcademy
As part of the SUBOTRON arcademy series of lectures on the theory of computer games, Igor Simic, creative director and CEO of the gaming and animation company Demagog Studio, Belgrade, will speak about the studio’s creative and business approach.
When an idea for a character, a story or a world comes before an idea for a game mechanic, there is usually a broader media space to explore beyond a single video game. That was Demagog Studio’s approach with “Golf Club: Wasteland”, its original soundtrack “Radio Nostalgia from Mars” and the three accompanying animated videos. Borders between digital media are blurred and with today’s tools there are plenty of ways to experiment with games, animations, music, memes, etc. in one intellectual property. The team has to make a creative and a business decision. This talk will give a digest of Demagog Studio’s path from working on a part-time transmedia project to becoming an actual company.
Igor Simic graduated from Columbia University, New York, with a BA in Film Studies and a BA in Philosophy. With short films screened in the film festival and the contemporary art context, Igor is currently represented by Galerie Anita Beckers in Frankfurt. Igor is the creative director and CEO of the gaming and animation company Demagog Studio, which created the award-winning, Apple-featured video game “Golf Club: Wasteland”, original soundtrack “Radio Nostalgia from Mars” and three animated music videos.
