Grape Harvest in Vienna
Autumn is coming and the grapes in the vineyards are ready to be harvested to guarantee a great wine for next year. It is common in Vienna that owners of small vineyards are asking friends and relatives to help with the harvest in exchange for good food and maybe a bottle of wine.
Manuel Nössing has a small vineyard in Vienna and is producing award winning wine. After great harvests with the Expat Club Vienna members the past two years, Manuel is inviting us to help him again with his harvest. It is of course hard work but something you can tell your friends and family about for sure. And of course it is fun as well and a great experience.
We will start early in the morning, meeting at 8.00. Manuel will give as a short introduction on the wine industry in Vienna and how to actually harvest the grapes correctly. Afterwards we will be heading to the vineyard. At lunch we will be provided with a warm meal (mainly vegetarian plus fish). Of course kids and loved ones are welcome to join. In order to avoid unintended over-booking, please register them separately using a different email address so your mail address doesn’t get substituted.
Due to the remote location of the vineyard it is advised to get there by car. In case you are interested in carpooling, please let us know if you are offering a free spot in your car or if you need a ride and we will try to connect you with other Expat Club members. It is possible to get there by bus 32A (stop Strebersdorfer Platz) and walk for 10 min. Please make sure to wear shoes that are appropriate for the walk in the vineyard.
As the harvest heavily depends on the weather it might happen that the event is cancelled the day before therefore we ask to provide us with your mobile phone number during the registration process.
Due to the limited availability (50), please let us know in case you can't attend, so others can register instead. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
