The accelerated pace of digitalisation, digital strategies, digital divide, digital fatigue - we all talk digital and do digital, but what can it do for the museum sector and what is at stake?
Let’s meet to talk about how museums bring digital to life, and how to avoid it being yet another annoying and over-exploited buzz word.
The online session brought together by Vienna Business Agency and MUSEUM BOOSTER invites you to look into the results of a study on Vienna-based museums in matters pertaining to digital. Join a conversation and inspiration session with digital innovation experts Diego Cenzano (Guggenheim Bilbao Museum) and Dan Koerner from Melbourne-based creative agency and technology company Sandpit.
Take a chance and join an exciting and playful online session in company with museum professionals, creative producers and creative techs.
The session will take place during the CIVA Festival and will include:
Presentation / 9 am - 11 am CET
Presentation of the survey and study on the status quo of the Viennese museums in regards to digital conducted by Vienna Business Agency and MUSEUM BOOSTER
Discussion and inspiration session with
Diego Cenzano is the Digital Transformation Director at the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. He is leading the institution’s cultural change to digital and oversees technology projects and advancement of the museum. He is also CEO at Biko, a Spain-based digital technology service company with a special focus on cultural and art projects for the leading museums in the country. Over the course of 25 years Diego has been helping a broad scope of organisations across Europe and Latin America to strategise, think through and launch their digital projects. He also teaches Entrepreneurship at the University of Navarra.
Dan Koerner is co-owner and Creative Director of Sandpit, an Australian experience design and creative tech company that creates unforgettable experiences for audiences. From signature architectural forms in museums, to projection-mapped megafauna in ancient caves and talking lamps in concert halls, Sandpit have delivered bespoke, award-winning work for many of the region’s leading cultural institutions and organisations, including: the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Museums Victoria, State Library Victoria, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Penguin Books, Google’s Creative Lab, and ArtScience Museum in Singapore.

Workshop / 11 am - 12 pm CET
A playful workshop to break the ice and enjoy out-of-the-box ideas and approaches to real-life issues from the museum worlds.
For the workshop we make sure to bring together an exciting group of people. We invite you to be open, creative and frank with your ideas.
Limited places. The application for this part is already closed. Participants will be informed by 10 February 2022.
